Harnessing Solar Power with Bespoke Carports: A Green Solution for Irish Weather

In the quest for renewable energy solutions, solar PV carports have emerged as a frontrunner, especially tailored for the unique climate of Ireland. These innovative structures not only provide shelter for vehicles but also harness the power of the sun, offering a dual advantage that’s hard to overlook. Solar Structures stands at the forefront of this green revolution, offering bespoke solar PV carports designed to meet the specific needs of the Irish weather.

The primary benefit of a solar PV carport is its ability to generate clean, renewable energy. This is particularly valuable in Ireland, where the drive towards sustainable living is stronger than ever. By converting sunlight into electricity, these carports reduce reliance on fossil fuels, thereby decreasing carbon footprints and promoting environmental sustainability.

Moreover, these made-to-measure carports are engineered to withstand Ireland’s varied weather conditions, from rain and wind to occasional sunshine. The robust design ensures durability and longevity, providing a reliable source of energy year-round. This resilience makes them an ideal choice for Irish homes, offering protection for vehicles while generating electricity even in less than perfect weather conditions.

Solar Structures’ expertise in crafting these solar solutions makes them a go-to company for those interested in making a sustainable change. With a focus on quality and customization, they ensure that every carport is tailored to fit the specific requirements and preferences of their clients. This bespoke approach not only maximises the efficiency of the solar panels but also complements the aesthetic of any home.

Choosing a solar PV carport from Solar Structures means investing in a future where clean energy and practicality go hand in hand. It’s a step towards a greener, more sustainable lifestyle, proving that even in a country known for its challenging weather, solar power remains a viable and beneficial energy source.

Possibly Ireland’s most eco-friendly solicitors?

When Caolán and the team at Doyle & Company solicitors in Blanchardstown decided to lower their carbon emissions they understood that Solar PV would be an ideal solution for them.  The offices use a fair amount of electricity during the day, but are relatively low users at night.  This meant that Solar PV would appear to be an ideal solution for them.  However, the roof space on their office was limited and could only fit very few panels.

From discussing their situation with the team at Ecoplex, they decided to call Solar Structures.  Together we conducted a site survey and it became apparent that the South facing area behind the office could be upgraded through a solar veranda.  The veranda would create an additional covered area for the team to sit out under and would keep them relatively dry as they went out to their cars.  Most of all, the solar PV brise-soleil awning would reduce the offices from overheating in Summer and would give them an optimum solar pv deployment.

We at Solar Structures, the experts in upgrading outdoor spaces via Solar PV, are very grateful to both the team at Doyle & Company and to Conor Deasy and the team at Ecoplex energy for working with us on the special project.

Outdoor spaces re-imagined – Solar PV carports

A great leap forward for the premier county as Tipperary County has its first timber Carport!

We have just installed an 18 panel, 7.2KWp carport in timber at a site in Tipperary.  The client wished to maximise their investment in Solar PV by combining it with adding a carport to their site.

Our two berth design can be used for a variety of uses from off-grid car charging stations to domestic carports to elegant patio areas.

We would like to thank the homeowner and John Lowry and the team at Home and Agri (https://www.homeandagrienergy.ie/) for partnering with us on this fantastic project.

Now all we need is for the sun to start shining all the month of September!

Patios re-imagined

This 21 panel steel pergola, facing due South, with just over 8.5KWp capacity, is now covering a beautiful patio area in Co. Galway.

The dappling effect of our specially selected PV panels gives the whole structure a light, elegant feel.

Please contact us if you would like a case-study on this or any of our other innovative projects.

Perfect panel orientation while protecting the rubbish bins

We just thought to highlight another recent project, which enabled the home-owner to orient his new Solar array due South for maximum generation.  Our galvanised steel structure has created the perfect space for storing his bins underneath, protected from the wild weather of the Wild Atlantic Way.  That said, after two weeks of non-stop sunshine, the wild weather seems to be a world away.

This project has 10 420W panels and was undertaken in conjunction with JFW renewables.  We would like to thank the homeowner for taking this journey with us.

‘Komorebi’ style solar PV dappling in North Mayo

On a spectacular day in North Mayo, we installed a 15 panel, 6KW solar pergola.  The panels, all special bi-facial panels, give great light underneath and create a dappling effect under the structure.  While our panels might not exactly create the famous Japanese concept of dappled sunlight through leaves, they do give a uplifting feeling to those that stand under their shade.

We envisage cost savings of over €1,200 per year with our array, while at the same time creating a special outdoor space.

We would like to thank the homeowner for their vision and trust in us with this project.
