Repurposed Steel
We at ACM, the home of steel in Connemara, have been working with steel everyday since 1974. We all know that the new steel is not the most environmentally friendly material to work with. At ACM our favoured option is to give a new life to old steel by reusing steel wherever we can. Each time we refurbish and reuse steel we can make a small difference to all of our futures and if we can make enough small differences, we can create a big improvement for us all. Recycled steel
Sometimes our clients need steel for which we don’t have pieces that can be reused. Our philosophy is simple in that we cannot reuse, we will try to use recycled steel wherever possible. While not quite as environmentally friendly as repurposed steel, it is made from scrap steel that would otherwise go to landfill. We work with a select number of recycled steel suppliers to ensure that the very best quality recycled steel is available to us.

High grade steel
Sometimes a certain grade of steel is required by our clients and nothing else will suffice. At ACM, the home of steel in Connemara, we can source the highest-grade steel from our suppliers. While not ideal from a carbon footprint point of view, sometimes there is just no other option. We obtain our steel from modern steel mills in Turkey and Poland.
